Google celebrates ICC World Cup 2019 with a Doodle
NEW DELHI: The 12th edition of the ICC World Cup is here and it doesn't take long to discover that the showpiece tournament begins today in England. Open Google on you smart phones, laptops, tablets, etc., and the first thing that pops up will be the Google Doodle playing cricket.
India will open their campaign against South Africa at Southampton on June 5.

"Today’s Doodle celebrates the International Cricket Council’s 2019 World Cup, which opens at the Oval in London," Google said in a statement.
In a short video graphic depicted in the Google logo, a bowler is seen delivering a ball that is hit by a batsman and then caught by a fielder.

The first match of the tournament will be played between hosts England and South Africa on Thursday. The English team led by Eoin Morgan goes into the tournament as the title favourites; however, they will need to break a jinx of losing three finals in the past to clinch their maiden World Cup silverware.
