Ayushmann starrer ‘Article 15’ trailer released

When ace filmmaker like Anubhav Sinha and a versatile actor like Ayushmann Khurrana come together, film like ‘Article 15’ happens. The movie, which is based on the Article 15 of the Indian Constitution which prohibits discrimination on the grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth, has the audience waiting for its release. After intriguing the viewers with the poster and teaser, the makers unveiled the trailer of the film and apart from sending a chill running down your spine, it is sure to make you sit right up and think.
It is inspired by the true events of the infamous 2014 Badaun gang rape. In the film, three sisters working on daily wages are harassed for demanding hike of mere three rupees in their respective payments because they are Dalits. As a result, the two are brutally gang-raped, murdered with their bodies left hanging on a tree. Ayushmann is seen searching for one of the three sisters. During the course of his investigations, Ayushmann unravels a system which is largely divided by cast and to what extent!

Talking about the film, Manoj Pahwa had earlier told IANS in an interview, “This film is not completely based on the heinous crime that took place in Badaun where two girls were raped and hanged. We can say that this film is inspired by that incident and we have included some chunks of it.”
The film also features actors like Isha Talwar, Manoj Pahwa, Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra, M Nassar, Ashish Verma, Sushil Pandey, Subrajyoti Bharat and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayub who have seemed to have put up a powerful act in the film. Ayushmann, not only looks convincing as a tough cop but will also leave you impressed by his sheer talent.
With gripping storyline, intriguing narration, stunning performances by actors and some hard-hitting dialogues, the trailer of the film will keep you hooked and make you want more.
‘Article 15’ is slated to hit the theatres on June 28, 2019.
