Kangana, Karan attend PM Modi’s swearing-in

If all goes as planned, an array of celebrities from the world of entertainment will be present at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony today. The event is scheduled to take place in Delhi this evening. The list that BT has received from well-informed industry sources includes names like Rajinikanth, Rajkumar Hirani[1], Aanand L Rai, Karan Johar[2], Mahaveer Jain, Shahid Kapoor[3], Kangana Ranaut[4], Kartik Aaryan, Sidharth Malhotra, comedian Kapil Sharma[5], Divya Khosla Kumar, Anil Kapoor and director Mangesh Hadawale. Invitations had also been sent out to Amitabh Bachchan and a couple of other industry seniors. Siddharth Roy Kapur, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Boney Kapoor, Vivek Agnihotri, Anupam Kher, Abhishek Kapoor and Asha Bhosle are among the other guests who will be present for the ceremony.
While there have been reports about Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Salim Khan and Shah Rukh Khan being invited to the do, there has been no confirmation on their attendance. Buzz is that Sidharth Malhotra may not make it to the function. Most of the aforementioned names from the guest-list will be in the capital around 4 PM, and are likely to head straight to the event venue. Apart from these, hearsay is that Vivek Anand Oberoi who played PM Modi in his biopic, producer Sandip Ssingh who produced the biopic and filmmaker Ashoke Pandit (the president of the IFTDA), a vocal supporter of the ruling PM will also be attending the ceremony. Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar is also expected to be present at the ceremony.
Apart from celebrities from the world of entertainment, there is an array of VIP guests expected to be present at the ceremony including people from the world of business, politics and sports. While the number at PM Modi’s swearing-in ceremony in 2014 was about 5000 guests, this time the number is expected to be about 8000. Celebrities who were invited to the 2014 event included Salman Khan, Dharmendra, Anupam Kher, Madhur Bhandarkar, Suresh Gopi, Vivek Oberoi, Lata Mangeshkar, Rajnikanth and Amitabh Bachchan.
