'De De Pyaar De' gets a U/A certificate

The trailer feature Alok Nath who has been accused of sexual harassment during the #MeToo movement in India. Which sparked the controversy around the film. Also, several critics stated that the film seems to follow the archaic template of women competing for the love and attention of a man.
Now, ahead of the release, the Censor Board has granted U/A certificate to the film. The board has also asked three changes in the film. According to a report, the Board has suggested replacing the alcohol bottle in Rakul's hand in the song 'Vaddi Sharaban' with a flower bouquet. They have also asked to cut two dialogues in the film, "performance better hoti hai" and "Manju ji ke aalu O ho ho …wahi ache hain.." … "ki yeh sab jhoot hain," along with its visuals.
Helmed by Akiv Ali, the film is slated to hit the theatres on May 16.
