Hunt futile, CBI recalls 10 men on Rajeev trail

KOLKATA: Ten officers from the 12-strong CBI team tasked to trace Bengal CID additional director general Rajeev Kumar were on Thursday asked to return to their "base stations" in New Delhi and UP after a eight-day search for the IPS officer.
The search, which had started on September 19, took the officers to around eight locations in and around the city, including at least two resorts. The team also made multiple visits to Kumar's home in the heart of the city as well as the state secretariat and the Bengal police headquarters.
CBI denied that asking 10 members of the team to return amounted to "a withdrawal".
