Set up board to examine P Chidambaram, HC tells AIIMS

NEW DELHI: The Delhi HC on Thursday asked the AIIMS director to set up a medical board to examine the health of former finance minister P Chidambaram, who is currently lodged in Tihar Jail in the INX Media money laundering case.
The HC's direction came on a plea by Chidambaram seeking interim bail on medical ground as he was suffering from Crohn's disease and wanted to consult his regular doctor in Hyderabad.
Justice Suresh Kait asked AIIMS to include the Hyderabad-based gastroenterologist in the board.
