Haryana BJP for 95% govt jobs quota for locals

CHANDIGARH: BJP's manifesto for the Haryana assembly elections promises collateral-free loans of up to Rs 3 lakh to Dalits, similar interest-free credit to marginal and small farmers and 95% reservation of government jobs for candidates domiciled in the state. The manifesto, released on Sunday, steers clear of offering any farm loan waiver.
Titled "Mhara Sapno Ka Haryana (Haryana of our dreams)", the manifesto has 15 chapters and 248 points. Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar said it was based on the principles of "Ram Rajya". "We have delivered on our promise of zero tolerance towards corruption. We don't believe in making populist announcements...The promises made by Congress require a budget of Rs 1.26 lakh crore, which is impossible. This reminds us of the announcements made by Bhupinder Singh Hooda in Gohana in 2013," he said.
BJP working president Jagat Parkash Nadda described the manifesto as "pragmatic, workable and doable". "This document is our commitment to the people of Haryana. Like the last term, we will deliver more than what has been committed here," he said.
