Indian family racially abused on Ireland train

LONDON: An Indian family on a vacation in Ireland was racially targeted by a fellow passenger on a train to Dublin.
Prasun Bhattachrjee and his family were travelling from Belfast to Dublin when a man seated beside them started abusing them over their “accents, skin colour and nationality”, the Irish Times reported. The man, who was drinking beer, was believed to have been drunk, according to the report.
“We felt so bad,” Bhattachrjee was quoted as saying in the report. An Irish Rail spokesman said it was “very sorry that this family experienced such disgraceful behaviour on board one of our train services”.
