Divya Spandana deletes Twitter account, gets Congress worried

NEW DELHI: Congress’s social media in-charge Divya Spandana has deleted her Twitter account, triggering speculation on Sunday if she was planning to quit the party or politics. Spandana, who frequently tweets against BJP and has led Congress’ fight on social media, deleted her Twitter handle along with its rich history. She is also learnt to have exited the various WhatsApp groups related to Congress.
A concerned Congress tried to establish contact with her but in vain. She was also not reachable for comment.
However, people close to the former Karnataka MP said she appeared to be taking a break after an overwhelming Lok Sabha campaign.
Spandana is not new to taking the party by surprise. Last year, her Twitter profile had omitted reference to her being the social media head of Congress, which led to rumours that she had quit the post. Spandana later clarified that she was in the process of changing her bio-data on the Twitter handle which led to the confusion.
