Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee to skip PM’s ‘one election’ meet

Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday declined to attend the meeting of chiefs of all parties to be chaired by PM Narendra Modi on Wednesday, suggesting that the Centre prepare a white paper on the issue of 'One Nation, One Election' instead of rushing in.
Banerjee also stayed away from the swearing-in ceremony of the Modi government and a Niti Aayog meeting last Saturday - calls which have been taken in the context of the spiralling hostilities between her and BJP since the latter pulled off an upset by winning 18 Lok Sabha seats in Bengal. Chiefs of AIADMK, DMK and TRS are also unlikely to attend the meeting.
