RSS calls for restraint after Ayodhya verdict

NEW DELHI: Saffron fountainhead RSS on Friday called for restraint and decided against any celebrations even if the Supreme Court delivers a favourable verdict in the vexed Ayodhya land dispute case, expected later this month.
The ‘no celebrations’ call was taken unanimously at the end of a three-day meeting, attended by BJP chief and home minister Amit Shah[1], Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat, BJP working president J P Nadda[2], and general secretary (organisation) B L Santosh among others.
Senior RSS members[3] Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi, Dattatreya Hosabale and Manmohan Vaidya, VHP’s Justice V S Kokje and Alok Kumar along with other office-bearers also participated in the meeting. RSS’ call comes as a relief for the Centre, which will have a tough task on hand to maintain communal amity.
