‘Lata Mangeshkar still in ICU, but improving’

MUMBAI: Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar who has been undergoing treatment at Breach Candy hospital for pneumonia has shown improvement. Sources on Tuesday said that though her condition remains serious, she has been showing “some signs of improvement”.
The 90-year-old singer was taken to Breach Candy Hospital early on Monday after she complained of difficulty in breathing. She was diagnosed with pneumonia. Sources told TOI that she is in the ICU and continues to be on ventilator. “Her recovery could take at least a week,” the source added. The hospital declined to comment on her health condition. Mangeshkar is undergoing treatment under Dr Pratit Samdani.
A media statement released by Mangeshkar’s family stated, “Her parameters are good. She has fought so well that she is coming out of this setback. Being a singer, her lung capacity has pulled her through. We will update everyone when Lataji gets discharged ,” the statement read.
