Brass decided on 17 MLAs' resignations: BSY in video

BENGALURU: Contrary to BJP's official stand that the party had nothing to do with the resignation of 17 Congress and JD(S) MLAs - which resulted in the collapse of the HD Kumaraswamy-led coalition government in July - Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa purportedly admits in a leaked video that the decision to get these MLAs to resign was taken by the saffron party's central leadership.
At one point in the video, he even goes on to say that he feels he has made a mistake by becoming the CM again. The video, which was widely shared, was shot during a meeting Yediyurappa held with party workers on October 26 in Hubballi over preparations for the December 5 bypolls.
The video shows the CM incensed over party workers protesting BJP's decision to field the 17 MLAs - now disqualified - on party tickets.
"The decision of the 17 MLAs (to resign) was not taken by me or any other state leader, but by the central leadership," he purportedly says.
